Mr. Berkowitz has extensive experience in patent litigation matters involving the pharmaceutical industry and specifically involving Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDA) under the Hatch-Waxman Act for generic pharmaceutical companies. In addition to being an active member of the firm's ANDA Litigation team, he is also registered to practice as a patent attorney before the United States Patent and Trademark Office and has represented clients before the United States Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and the United States Patent and Trademark Office Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences. Mr. Berkowitz is a member of the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Bar Association. He also currently co-chairs the Philadelphia Bar Association's Intellectual Property Committee and serves on its Israel Exchange Committee. Before becoming an attorney, Mr. Berkowitz worked for five years as an engineer with the Space Systems Division of the General Electric Company.

Apotex, Inc. v. Eon Labs Manufacturing, Inc. (S.D.N.Y. 2002), represented patentee in litigation involving generic anti-rejection medication cyclosporine
Glaxo Wellcome, Inc. v. Pharmadyne Corp. (D. Md. 1996) represented ANDA applicant in patent suit involving liquid dosage form of Zantac® (ranitidine hydrochloride)
